Does it contain the same active ingredient as Plan B One-Step®?
Yes. My Morning After Choice contains levonorgestrel 1.5 mg, the same active ingredient and strength as Plan B One-Step®.
Is it the same as an abortion pill?
No. Levonorgestrel emergency contraception helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by delaying or preventing ovulation. It does not end an existing pregnancy and will not work if you are already pregnant.
Can I use it as my regular birth control?
It is intended as a backup for emergencies, not as your regular birth control method.
What side effects might I notice?
Possible side effects include changes in your period, nausea, lower abdominal pain, tiredness, headache, dizziness, breast tenderness, or vomiting. Get immediate medical attention if you have severe abdominal pain.
What if my period is late after taking it?
Your next period may come earlier or later than expected. If it is more than one week late, take a pregnancy test and follow up with a healthcare professional.
